I picked Ainsley up from Lisa's yesterday afternoon and they told me that Ainsley took 9 steps for them. I couldn't believe it. The most we've seen her take is 4 steps at a time. I told Lisa that if that was the case, then she'll probably be walking by the time she goes back on Monday. Lisa agreed with me.
This morning, Ainsley would stand up in the middle of the living room floor, look at me, smile, and then take a few steps without really even being asked or prodded. Tonight, I was on the floor with her trying to get her to walk, and she took quite a few steps. Check out the video here. She's walked from the couch to the chair ottoman and from the end table over to her chair. I noticed she would do a lot of circles today. She stands up and will only put one foot out and take a step, and after you do that with the same foot a few times, you end up going in a circle instead of forward. She's getting really close to just letting go and flat out walking. The only thing holding her back is herself at this point. We don't know if we're ready for her to start walking yet. It makes me sad to even think about it.
Here's a video of her playing with her Minnie Mouse tonight. You can watch her hugging and giving Minnie kisses. She is the sweetest little girl!
Her Mickey car wouldn't make noise earlier today, so I thought I would change the batteries. The batteries were really hot, and there was a funky smell coming from it, so I didn't put new batteries in it. Joel looked at it when he got home and said there was a short somewhere and part of the battery compartment was black. He tried taking the car apart to fix it, but didn't have much luck. That car is one of her favorite toys, and I just bought it for her in mid-January for her birthday. I called Toys R Us and they said that would take it back and exchange it, so I'm hoping to get over there this weekend. Ainsley wasn't very happy with Daddy for taking her car apart and wanted in on the action.
