Spring came and went

Spring came quickly one week, and just as quickly went away.  The weather's been a little crazy over the last few months, with it being nice a few days and then cold the next.  The girls have been able to play outside a few times, and Ainsley constantly asks to go outside and play.  Both girls have terrible allergies, and have been stuffy, had runny noses, coughs, etc for what seems like the last few months.  I'm anxious for summer to get here and the allergies to leave!

Spring also means rain, and I have a certain little girl that loves jumping in the puddles.  She's is also known as Snow White these days, but any puddle will do for her.  She loves them all!

Lily loves it outside just like her big sister.  Earlier this year, she didn't like the grass to touch her, but she's quickly gotten over that and doesn't seem to mind it as much.  Luckily, she's been pretty content sitting on a blanket watching Ainsley run around, but I know she's not going to be like that much longer.

One of my Gillespie aunts posted the picture below on Facebook one day.  It's of two of my Dad's sisters, and I love their bonnets.  I made the comment I wished I had bonnets like that for my two girls, and wouldn't you know a few weeks later, two little bonnets arrived in the mail from Aunt Peg who had made them after I said I would like some!

I didn't know if either one of the girls would actually wear it, but Ainsley was excited to put hers on.  Here's a video of her talking about her "new hat".  She said it would keep the sunburn away and that sunburns are bad.  I'm training her young!!!  Lily didn't like hers as much as Ainsley.

We took the girls down to Jim and Rita's one afternoon and let Ainsley fly a kite.  It was a perfect day, with just the right amount of wind.  The kite only made it into the tree a few times, and Lily enjoyed watching Ainsley and Daddy run around!

I see many picnic lunches outside this summer with the girls.  Ainsley sure enjoyed it one afternoon, and then she was able to "help" Daddy outside afterwards.  Joel was cleaning out some pipe (tile, maybe...I don't know!) and a big crawfish came out of it!  He threw it up in the grass and Ainsley didn't know what to think of it.  She was scared at first, but eventually got braver and close enough to check it out.  It always ends badly for the poor girl, though.  She was putting water over the crawfish with the hose, and turned the hose on herself and got soaked!  It was time to go in after that!

Ainsley's finally big enough to see out my car window, and spots the park every time we leave the house.  We've gone several times already this year.  Lily is scared of everything, including the slide and baby swing at the park, but Ainsley loves it all.
