Fun at the Fair!

We took Ainsley to the Macoupin County Fair in June, and met up with Lauren, Jason, Grayson, and Amelia.  Ainsley couldn't wait to see her friend Grayson.  Mom kept Lily for us, and I'm glad she did, because Lily would have wanted out of the stroller and trying to keep up with big sister.

We ran into Elizabeth, Matt, and Rowdy when we got there, and Ainsley was able to ride some rides with Rowdy before they went to the truck pulls.

The fair was perfect for Ainsley this year.  They had quite a few rides for her age, and she loved them all!  She even wanted to ride on the ones that she was too short for.  There's always next year for those!

The big slide was one of their favorites.  Jason and Joel took the kids on it, and I think they both got a little air.  It was slick!  Ainsley and Grayson both loved it and kept asking to go down it again.  It wasn't too crowded when we first got there, so they were able to go on it a few times.

The kids loved running from one ride to another, and had a great time.  Daddy even let Ainsley play the "duck" game and win a prize.  Maybe he's not such a cheapskate anymore.....NAH, who am I kidding?!

The dog show was pretty fun to watch.  I love how Ainsley is a whole head taller than Grayson and is only 2 months older!  He's just a "wittle" guy!!!

Ainsley discovered lemonade, and couldn't get enough of it.  I bought a funnel cake on the way out, and I think she ended up eating the majority of it, too!

Ainsley's asked to go to "the fair" a few times since, so I'm pretty sure she had a really good time!

Father's Day

Father's Day was pretty laid back this year.  The girls woke up and gave Joel his gift and card, and everyone requested waffles.  They ended up with frozen waffles, after I discovered we were out of eggs and couldn't make Belgian waffles.  We played and laid around the house the rest of the day waiting for everyone to come over for a cookout.

The girls had fun playing outside with Aunt Kathleen and Lani while waiting for Joel to grill the brats and hotdogs.   Ainsley also had fun yelling "butt monkey" outside, to which Lily tried to copy at the end.   A huge thanks goes out to Uncle Jeremy for teaching her that one.

After we ate, the girls had fun climbing on Uncle Jeremy.  Ainsley and Lani didn't want to stop "riding the horse".  I'm sure Jeremy appreciated them jumping up and down on him!

Uncle Tanner had to join in on the fun, too!

It turned out to be a really nice, laid back, day.  We couldn't ask for better fathers/grandfathers in our lives.  I know two little girls who are especially fortunate!

I really need to get more creative with my post titles, but I'm one of the most uncreative people you'll meet!  I tell Joel all the time that he needs to come up with some titles for me, but he just gives me a blank stare, and then makes fun of the title I end up using.  Who cares about the post title, right?!  I'm sure you're just wanting to see some pictures of two adorable little girls, anyway!

We've taken a few walks to the Chapin park in the last month.  We usually don't end up staying long.  Ainsley always wants to walk instead of ride in the wagon or stroller, and Lily doesn't like doing anything there, so it's usually a short trip.

 

We walked up to the post office and then to the park one morning, and when we got home, Lily grabbed her sippy cup and headed right for the pink chair.  I was watching her from my office, and she sat in it for a minute drinking and then her arm went over the side and finally dropped her sippy cup.  She had fallen asleep in the chair!  I'm glad I ran right in and got a picture, because a few seconds after I took it, Ainsley came down the stairs and woke her up!

I took the girls to Bluffs after picking them up from Lisa's one afternoon to get ice cream.  I somehow talked Joel into taking them to the Bluffs park.  I have to say, the Bluffs park is so much better than Chapin's.  It has so many more things, and it's in pretty nice shape.  Ainsley got out of the car and literally started running in circles once we got there.  She didn't know where to go first!  She finally decided on the big bumblebee toy, and that's when the first and (thankfully) only accident happened.  I think she was so excited, and didn't know what to do.  She looked up at Joel and I and said:  "I have to pee."  I don't even know if she got the entire sentence out of her mouth before she started peeing.  She's never had an accident like that before!  She's had a few accidents during nap time, but that's it.  I took her over to the car, changed her, and she was back to running around not knowing where to go next! 

Ainsley only wants to drive her princess car if I put Lily in it.  Lily wasn't very happy one evening that Ainsley was driving it, and chased her around the yard!
