Freeman Christmas

We headed to Jim and Rita's Christmas afternoon for the rest of the day.  It was nice to sit around and relax for the afternoon, especially since I started feeling terrible that morning.  I even got a quick nap that afternoon.  A nap was the best Christmas present I got, especially since Santa didn't bring Mommy anything!

When Drake's around, there's sure to be trouble.  Lani didn't feel good, so she wasn't her normal self running around making all kinds of noise with Drake.  Instead, my daughter stepped up to the plate to be Drake's sidekick.  I found the two of them trying to get Rita's carolers to sing by clapping their hands.  Well, one of them got a little excited and took out one of the carolers while trying to get them to sing.  (I'll just say it wasn't my kid!)  We stood the caroler back up and got it working again.  Ainsley thought they were pretty cool!

I don't think any of Jeremy's family felt good, and I know I didn't that afternoon.  Halfway through the afternoon, I could tell Ainsley wasn't feeling the greatest either.  Her poor little cheeks were bright red and she just looked terrible.  She wasn't even excited to open presents, and kept asking when we were going home.
I'm just going to eat this shoe, Mom....until I can get some of that wrapping paper in my mouth!

Yum!  Finally...some of that wrapping paper!

Drake got a new guitar!
We didn't stay long at all after we opened presents.  We went home, got the girls in the bathtub and then pajamas and they were even able to play with their new toys for a little bit before bed that night.  I woke up the next morning feeling absolutely terrible and finally went to Prompt Care that Saturday morning.  I had influenza, and they gave me some Theraflu.  It took me almost an entire week to start to feel normal again.  We had to miss going to Grandma and Grandpa Bowman's the evening after Christmas because I felt so bad.  I hate getting sick around the holidays, but am happy to say that currently everyone in the Freeman household is healthy again!

Even with everyone getting sick, we still had a great Christmas.  Ainsley made it so much fun this year with her excitement.  I'm already looking forward to next year when Lily understands it better and we have two excited little girls!
