So, I'm almost a month late (we've been extremely busy around here), but Happy Valentine's Day!
Ainsley loves her holidays, and during the weeks leading up to Valentine's Day could spot a heart from a mile away. As soon as she'd see a heart, she'd excitedly say: "Look, Mommy, a heart-Valentine's Day". She now corresponds all hearts to Valentine's Day and if she sees one, she'll say: "Heart, Valentine's Day over". She doesn't think hearts should be allowed anywhere now that Valentine's Day is over!
I found some really cute ideas for Valentines on Pinterest for Ainsley to take to Lisa's and music class, but Ainsley had spotted some Mickey Mouse paper card Valentines in Walgreens one day and constantly asked for them. We ended up going back to Walgreens to get them after numerous failed attempts of doing other Valentines.
As soon as we got home with the box of Valentines, Ainsley got the box out of the bag and wanted to put them together. We filled one out for the kids at Lisa's, and the kids in her music class. We had a few left over, and I asked her if she wanted to give anyone else a Valentine. Of course she did! Grandma "Eba", Papa Jim, Grandpa Bill, Grandma Shelly, Papa Mark, and Uncle Tanner were the first ones she came up with so I filled out a card for each one. We still had a few left and I asked her if she wanted to give anyone else one, and she looked up excitedly and said: "Rowdy", so I as I was filling a card out for Rowdy, she then says: "And Rowdy's Mommy and Daddy". I busted out laughing!!! So, "Rowdy's Mommy and Daddy" got a Valentine, too!
Ainsley was super bummed when Valentine's Day was over, but as soon as I told her about the next holiday (St. Patrick's Day), she got excited again. She's wanted to hear her green St. Patrick's Day shirt every day since then. She's already been asking to watch the Mickey Mouse Easter episode multiple times a day, as she knows Easter is next on the list. I absolutely love how excited she gets, and as long as she's excited, we'll continue to make big deals out of holidays!
