Lalaloopsy Party

I started asking Ainsley shortly after Christmas what kind of birthday party she wanted.  Of course, she said "Minnie", but I told her she had that party last year and suggested we pick something else out.  I tried getting her to do a "purple" party and showed her a picture of an absolutely adorable purple ombre cake.  Purple is her favorite color, so why wouldn't she want that....right?  Wrong!  She wanted nothing to do with it!  She finally decided on Lalaloopsy.  If I mentioned a different type of party, she would refuse and only wanted Lalaloopsy.  So, Lalaloopsy it was!

I asked Tanner to take the picture above of the four of us in our party hats, and we got a picture of three of us in our hats with Joel's cut out of the picture.  Good job, Tanner, good job.

We had her birthday party scheduled for the day after her actual birthday, since we were planning on going to St. Louis for her actual birthday.  Ainsley had a lot of fun helping me decorate, and get ready for the party.

She knew Grandpa Bill was picking up her Lalaloopsy birthday cake for us and bringing it to the party, so she couldn't wait for him to arrive.

Ainsley had practice the day before blowing out candles, so she was a pro at her party.  I think she thought the whole cake was for her, because she wanted to take a bite right out of the cake, instead of cutting it.  You only get one birthday a year, so why not let her take a little bite?  I couldn't tell the birthday girl No!

She'd been eyeing all the presents that people brought in and was anxious to go downstairs to start opening presents.
Luckily, we had a wonderful photographer (our nephew, Jack) who got lots of pictures for us!

Ainsley got way too many presents, but had a blast opening them all.  Uncle Tanner got Ainsley a cheerleader Minnie Mouse that moves around and does a cheer.  Ainsley got a different Mickey Mouse for her birthday last year and Lily is terrified of it.  Of course, Joel and Tanner had to torment Lily with both of them.
Lily had the death grip on Grandma Shelly while watching that Mickey Mouse!

Ainsley couldn't wait to play with "her friend Hadlee", as she calls Hadlee.

The day of Ainsley's party was also Super Bowl Sunday.  It's the second year I've planned her party on the day of the Super Bowl and it didn't make Joel happy (like I look at the calendar for these types of things).  So, we had a Super Bowl party too.
Grandpa Bill and Lily fell asleep....

The 3 little angels being good, pretending to sleep (probably the only time they were quiet all day)

The guys playing dice instead of watching the game....exciting Super Bowl!!!
Ainsley didn't get a nap, and was exhausted by the time everyone left that night after the Super Bowl.  She did have enough energy to ask for one last piece of birthday cake, though before she passed out on the couch.
