Late Spring/Early Summer

We spent as much time as possible soaking up the last few months at our house in Chapin.  The girls loved sitting on the front porch eating popsicles or ice cream cones watching Wilma and the Brockhouse guys drive by.  I was slowing packing boxes, and cleaning when possible to get ready for the big move.

Uncle Jeremy's hair (and beard) isn't quite the same as Mommy's but it will do!
Lily still didn't care for animals, but had started warming up to the cats at Lisa's.  I couldn't believe it one afternoon when I got there to pick her up and she was actually petting the cat!

The girls enjoyed playing with Hudson one afternoon before they moved back to Jackson.  The girls showed him how to dress up.  Isn't he cute?!?!  Mom and Mark got a bike for Ainsley to have at their house and Mark helped her ride it (it's quite a bit bigger than the one she had at home).  It didn't take her long to wreck it and decide she was NEVER riding on Grandma and Papa's driveway, EVER AGAIN.

Joel and the girls took me to Evandy's for my birthday.  Ainsley decided she wanted to try a lemon wedge, and quickly discovered it wasn't quite what she was expecting.  Little sister had to follow, and actually liked it!

Joel and I visited Walker in the hospital one morning before heading to Springfield to get stuff for the house.

Pig tails!

She figured out how to take her dress off by herself....
We had lots of park dates.  The girls begged to go every day.  Ainsley was a little obsessed with swinging and trying to learn how to pump her legs, so she was requesting to go to the park nonstop.

The girls got to spend lots of time with all their grandparents this summer during our period of "homeless-ness".
Ainsley was NOT happy when she woke up and realized I was there to pick her up

She was so proud of her nail painting abilities

I took Ainsley to "Art in the Yard" one afternoon, and she had a blast.  It was their first year having it, and it was a lot of fun.  There were different stations set up for the kids to do art projects.  Ainsley's favorite was painting with a water gun!

It rained what felt like nonstop this spring/summer.  Joel was constantly down at the river pumping water and checking on things.

I had to go to Dallas for a few days.  It was our mid-year meeting, and I arrived to find a welcome sign on the doors.  I know I've said this before, but I seriously think I work for one of the best companies.  They had a food truck serve us sliders for lunch after our meeting, and had washers and games set up while we waited for our food.  We also had a suite at a minor league baseball game one evening, so I was able to enjoy a night of baseball, food, and fun.

The girls will usually play with anyone's hair that they can find when drinking their milk.  They don't care if it's long, short, white or black.  As long as it's hair!

Picnics and doughnuts....some of our favorite things!

The girls enjoyed quite a few naps with Papa Jim this summer, and lots of time swinging on Grandma Rita's swing.
Trying to brush her teeth, but big sister wouldn't leave her alone.

We met Kathleen and Lani at Kids Day at the fair, and of course, it was after a big rain, so the fairgrounds were a complete mess.
