Spring is almost over, and I think most farmers will be glad to see it gone this year. It has rained and rained, and then rained some more for the last few months. There was about a week where Joel and Jim could get in the fields, but they're still way behind getting all the crops in. That makes for a very grouchy husband!
We were outside yesterday when it started sprinkling, and Ainsley didn't know what to think of the rain. She would try to look up to figure out what was hitting her head, but wouldn't be able to look up long before a rain drop would hit her in the face and she'd scrunch up her face. It was funny to watch!

She's also figured out how to turn on the water spicket outside. I bought her a Mickey Mouse watering can a few weeks ago, and she loves watering the flowers. She doesn't understand that the water will slowly go out of Mickey's hose pipe, but instead just takes her watering can and dumps it upside down so all the water pours out at once.
There was a day a few weeks ago that it didn't rain, so I took the girls outside to plant flowers. Lily slept on the porch the whole time, and Ainsley liked helping play in the dirt.

After fighting with a hot and dirty two year old to go inside for twenty minutes, I finally got her and Lily in the house. After a quick bath, and barely getting her diaper on her, Ainsley crashed on the couch. Note to self: don't try to go outside during nap time again!
Ainsley didn't understand why she couldn't wear her stocking hat outside. She's finally getting over the fact that she doesn't need to wear a hat and coat when we go outside. She was so use to wearing one this winter that she doesn't understand why she doesn't need one anymore! She walked all around the house that morning with the stocking hat on, and I finally had to bribe her to take it off in order to go outside.
It seems like Ainsley goes through stages on what she likes to do. She's on a coloring kick right now and loves to color. She even colored on the kitchen tile the other morning, which was surprisingly easy to wipe right up.

Tanner went on his senior trip a few weeks ago, and brought the girls presents from Alabama. The girls got build a bears from Tanner and Emilee and Ainsley got some new sunglasses!

We've had a busy last few weeks with lots of visitors and things to do.

My birthday was last week, and I'm still trying to get over the fact that I'll be 30 next year. Man, I'm getting old! Joel needed a few reminders to realize it was my birthday, which I was happy to give. The girls remembered Mommy's birthday with help from Grandma Shelly. They (along with Mom and Mark) sent me beautiful flowers. The flowers were sitting on the kitchen island, and when Ainsley got home from Lisa's, I told her it was Mommy's birthday and showed her the flowers. She immediately wanted to know where the hats were. She's been watching the Mickey Mouse birthday episode way too much! She knows all about birthdays! She wanted birthday hats!! I told her I didn't have any, but after supper, I asked her if she wanted a piece of cake. I cut a piece and put a few candles in it and asked if she wanted to blow out the candles for my birthday. Of course, she got excited, and Joel was taken by surprise. He just kind of looked at me and said, oh, it is May 21st, isn't it. He then looked at the island and saw the flowers and all the birthday cards that I had also been leaving on the island as a reminder for him. He didn't catch on to any of my hints. Oh well, maybe next year!
