1st Birthday Party for Thing 1 and Thing 2

Lily and Hudson had a Dr. Seuss themed Thing 1 and Thing 2 birthday party the weekend before their birthdays. 

I headed down to Dad's on Saturday to bake the cupcakes and help get the rest of the decorations ready with Jamie.  Lily got excited as soon as she saw Hudson and didn't want to leave him alone!  Hudson couldn't get away from her fast enough!

We managed to get the community club decorated and ready for the party on Sunday just before the party guests arrived.  Thank goodness for Jamie and Pinterest for ideas on decorating, because this Mommy has no creativity or decorating skills at all!

The birthday girl and boy were a little overwhelmed at first, but they held up pretty well. 

Of course, big sister (aka Miss Thing) couldn't wait for all the birthday fun.  She'd been talking about the big party for days. 

Jamie made the kids party hats, and Lily didn't mind hers, but Hudson wasn't having anything to do with his!!!  That boy was not happy wearing his party hat!

I think Hudson was trying to push Lily's off!

Hudson did love the cake, though!  He didn't waste any time, and dug right in.  Lily didn't care that there was a giant cupcake sitting in front of her.  She was just happy that she had Hudson sitting right beside her.  Lily sure loves Hudson!!!

I don't know what I was doing, but I missed both kids getting cleaned up after the cupcake.  I'm sure Lily wasn't too bad, since she didn't have much interest in it, but hopefully Hudson had quite a bit of icing on him!

Neither one of the kids were interested in the presents, which turned out ok, because we had plenty of helpers!  Lily and Hudson liked the tissue paper and balloons, though!

Both kids are so lucky to have so many family and friends that love them.  We were so happy that so many could celebrate with us.  Lily and Hudson appreciate everyone coming and all the gifts.  I know Lily enjoys having some of her own toys.  She doesn't have to hear from big sister:  "Give me that, it's MINE!"
