4th of July

I found an idea on Pinterest for 4th of July shirts, and I think they turned out pretty good.  Ainsley loved making hers....Lily, not so much!

We started out going to get doughnuts the morning of the 4th before we headed to the parade.  Both girls really enjoyed the parade, especially the candy!  I caught both of them dancing while one of the bands marched by.

We met The Freeman's, or as Ainsley likes to refer to them:  Baby Alaina, Baby Alaina's Mommy, and Baby Alaina's Daddy for lunch after the parade.
After lunch, we headed home for a quick nap and change of clothes before making our way to Lou and Alaina's for a cookout and then fireworks.  All the kids had fun running around, and even Lou got in on some of the action. Check out this video of him on the bike!

Ainsley discovered sparklers, and also figured out rather quickly that you don't touch them after they've been lit.

Ready for the fireworks!
After a busy day, we didn't know how the girls would do for the fireworks that night, but they actually did really well.  Lily just sat back on Joel's lap and watched them.  She wasn't scared of them at all.  Not long after they started, she fell asleep and didn't move until we got back to the car and I woke her up while trying to put her pajamas on her.  Ainsley sat on my lap and loved the fireworks this year.  She kept saying:  "Wow!"   After 5-10 minutes of watching them, she looked up at me and told me she was tired, and it didn't take long before she was snoring on my lap.
