Tanner's big move

Tanner started school at MTI in Brownsburg (right outside of Indianapolis) in September.  He's in the electrician program, and should finish next September.  He found a one bedroom apartment not far from the school, so we moved him in the week before school started.  Tanner, his girlfriend Whitney, Mom, and Dad all left early that morning and I hopped in with Mom as she was going through Springfield to help with the move.  The trip there was pretty uneventful until we got about half an hour outside of Brownsburg, which is when Tanner got pulled over for speeding. Thankfully, that was the only mishap of the trip.

Mom and Tanner had to sign the lease papers when we got there, so Dad, Whitney, and I started unloading the trailer.  By the time Tanner and Mom were done signing the papers, we had everything moved into the apartment except his tv and a dresser.  Tanner got off pretty easy!
I packed Tanner a few things, including some decor for his apartment....pictures of his adorable nieces!

He had pretty much everything he needed already packed, but we still made a trip to Walmart to get a few odds and ends and some groceries.  After getting Mom and Dad to buy him a few (or a lot) things at Walmart we walked out to find some money in the parking lot!  Our Aunt Peg would have loved to have found all those coins.  She keeps track of money she finds on her blog, Found Money in the Street.
We unloaded Tanner's groceries at the apartment before heading home.  Tanner wasn't happy about getting his picture taken, but he finally struck a pose for me.

He even has a little patio.
I made fun of Tanner while we were grocery shopping because he was getting a bag of potatoes.  I asked him what he was going to do with potatoes, and his reply was:  "Eat them."  One of the first few days he was at his apartment, I got the picture below from him.  I guess he really does know how to cook potatoes..  I don't see how it's fair that he's eating better than I do, though.  He cooked a ribeye for himself?!  I'm lucky if I get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
The first day of class, Tanner's instructor asked where he found an apartment, and after Tanner told him, the instructor said it wasn't the best neighborhood.  I'm sure he'll be fine, though.  I did get to see the Speedway, which is only a few blocks from Tanner's apartment, when Mom got lost trying to find the apartment.  I have to admit that looking at the houses while we were trying to find our way back to the apartment, it didn't look like the nicest neighborhood!

Tanner said school is going good and he was getting out early the first few days.  Ainsley thinks it's cool that Uncle Tanner is going to school.  Hopefully he sticks to it and the next year goes quickly.

Kathleen kept the girls for me while I made the trip to Indy, and the girls had a blast.  Ainsley didn't want to leave when I got there to pick them up, so I let her stay the night, which all the girls were excited about.  Lani's friend was staying the night, too, so they had a slumber party.  I think all three girls crashed pretty early, and I know Ainsley had fun and didn't want to leave the next morning!
I'm thankful Ainsley hasn't discovered the duck lips and peace sign phase yet!
