We've had a crazy last few months around the Freeman house, and I'm hoping to get caught back up in the next few weeks. Since my last post, I've been to Dallas twice (and leave again in a week), had many birthdays, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, and I also now have two new nephews and a new niece! Just thinking about the last few months makes me want to lay down a take a nap!!!
We started preparing for Christmas in early December. I talked Joel into getting the Christmas tree and decorations out one weekend, and Ainsley thought it was the best day ever! (She's had a lot of "best day evers" lately. I love how excited she gets, and how you can see the sparkle in her eye. She's almost always so appreciative whenever she has a "best day ever" and will give you lots of big hugs that day.)
It was the hardest year yet getting the tree up. Lily literally had to touch every ornament in the tote, and it took me five times as long to get everything done. Ainsley wanted to hang every ornament, so we had a lot around the bottom of the tree this year! The girls really enjoyed decorating the trees for their rooms.
We also took a weekend out in December to bake and decorate Christmas cookies. Jeremy, Kathleen, Jack and Lani all came over to help us decorate them. Lily was the one that got really into the decorating this year (if that's what you want to call it).
She obviously thought our icing was very good!

Ainsley thought making a gingerbread house was pretty fun. Lily just liked eating all the candy.

The girls loved getting dressed in their Christmas pajamas and putting on the Santa hats. Ainsley finally figured out that the hats said: "Naughty" on one side and "Nice" on the other, and would tell us which one she wanted to be!
I was able to go to a fundraiser event where I made a Christmas wreath. For my first time, I think it turned out pretty good. I even made a second one with the left over supplies I took home!
I made treat bags for Ainsley's preschool Christmas party, and all I have to say is: Thank goodness for Pinterest!
