No, we're really not having twins. I promise!
But, Thomas and Jamie are expecting their first baby six days before our little peanut is due!!! We're so excited for them, and can't wait for Ainsley to have a little cousin to torment and teach things to.
Jamie sent out the cutest "We've moved/pregnancy announcement" cards to announce their bundle of joy.
They kept it a secret for quite some time. When Dad, Tanner, Ainsley, and I went down a month or so ago to see the new house, they let us in on their secret then. Jamie had to work all weekend, and didn't get home until after 9 on Friday night. About 10 that night, Thomas decided to take Ainsley upstairs to give her a "surprise". Of course, me and Tanner followed him upstairs, because we wanted to know what the suprise was too. He took her into their bedroom and locked the door! I thought they had bought her some annoying toy or something, but out walks Thomas holding Ainsley and carrying a little shirt.
I don't think Ainsley wanted the shirt on, so they handed it to me instead. It said: Big Sister & Big Cousin coming in May 2013! I couldn't believe it!!!
Then, out came the dogs wearing their shirts. Maddie wearing a "big sister" shirt and Jake wearing a "baby's guard dog" shirt.
Of course, then I had to keep it a secret until they made the announcement to everyone, which absolutely killed me. I was so glad when it was finally out.
I still can't believe they kept it a secret for so long. Jamie knew at Mom's wedding, and they didn't say a word! My first appointment with Dr. Huston and Jamie's first appointment and sonogram was the same day! This month's appointment was also on the same day. It's crazy!!!
I'm not looking forward to everyone comparing me and Jamie on size during the pregnancy! I've already instructed her she can eat whatever she wants, and multiple times a day so she can keep up with me! I'm sure Thomas will pack on the weight right along with her, though.
We've already compared our bumps once, and I had her beat, but I was sticking it out pretty good.
I'm anxious to see how well behaved this Gillespie baby is going to be. Of course, Thomas says his kid will not act like Ainsley or do half the stuff Ainsley does. That's exactly what I said before I had kids: that my kids wouldn't be bad and they would listen to me. Well, once the baby gets here, reality sets in and things don't always work out as planned!
