Preparing for baby

We're slowly preparing for baby #2.  All the furniture came in last week and is now in our sun room and garage, waiting to go in the new nursery.  Lou, Alaina, and Hadlee came over on Saturday to help move all the furniture around.  They got the basement "bedroom" cleaned out and ready for my desk to be moved into it.  My desk is very heavy and they had to take it apart (into 4 or 5 pieces) in order to get it out of the bedroom upstairs and moved downstairs.  It ended up taking Joel and Lou all afternoon and most of the evening to get everything done.

Ainsley and Hadlee had fun playing all day while the boys worked.  Of course, Ainsley didn't like sharing, and Hadlee liked to hit, so they both were in trouble numerous times.  The looks the two girls gave each other were hilarious!  It was fun to sit back and watch.

Kisses!!!
Lou was playing with Hadlee and tickling her on the floor, and Ainsley thought she needed to join.  She started out tickling Hadlee, and then it quickly turned into a wrestling match.  Ainsley had poor Hadlee pinned!

Hadlee was a champ and never cried...although, I probably would with that much weight on top of me!
We're so lucky to have such awesome friends to help us out.

We packed up the truck on Sunday morning and headed to Springfield to pick up the new crib.  I somehow talked Joel into running into the mall to look for a few Easter/spring dresses for Ainsley.  Ainsley was able to ride the carousel for the first time that morning.  I put her on the horse and buckled her in, and she immediately loved it.  That was, until it actually took off and started going around in a circle, while the horse moved up and down.  She didn't know what to think of all the movement at first, but soon discovered it was fun!  She had the biggest smile on her face and would squeal in delight.  We had to find Daddy standing off to the side every time we went around.  I didn't have a very happy little girl when the ride stopped and I started unbuckling her.  She screamed, threw herself, and did everything she could to fight to get out of my arms.  Luckily, Joel was there and was able to take her and get her calmed down a little and into the stroller.  It's getting so hard for me to fight with her.

She think it's funny to take her shoes and socks off in the car
I've been trying to get my desk organized and everything put back in place downstairs.  Today is day #3 of working without sunlight, and it hasn't been too bad.  I do miss being upstairs though, where everything is convenient (mostly the food!)  Ainsley seems to like being down in the basement, where she has more room to run and play.
View from my desk now...I can see exactly what she's doing (most of the time!)

Playing with her tractor...I guess it needed to go up the door jam.
I don't know how I'm ever going to pick a paint color for the nursery.  Ainsley sat in the "nursery" with me last night as I held paint swatches up to the wall to see what I thought.  Of course, every time I would hold one up, she would have to get one to hold up too.  She had the same answer every time for both colors....Nope!  It was so funny.  She would look at the swatch, almost like she was studying it, look over at me and say "Nope" and then grab another one and repeat.  I don't know if there is anything I hate more than decorating.  It's definitely not my cup of tea.  If only we were rich and could hire an interior designer to do it for me...
How do I decide?!?!

  1. I think you should make Joel paint each wall a different color... then make your decision! :)
