Easter (Round 2)

The Easter Bunny visited the Freeman house last weekend and brought Ainsley's Easter basket full of goodies.  She woke up Sunday morning and I asked her if she knew who came to her house last night.   When I told her the Easter bunny, she got excited and went running for the living room.  She immediately started pulling books out of her basket and looking at them.
She had a little bed head!
She had lots of fun playing with all her new toys, etc.

We had a busy morning of playing and getting ready to head to Aunt Doris's for lunch.  Thankfully, she fell asleep on the way down, so we didn't have an absolute cranky baby on our hands.  We got there to find more Easter presents waiting for her.  She loved going through all of it!

Ainsley was a big girl and sat with JD to eat lunch at the little kids table.  She did a lot better than I ever thought she would and actually sat there to eat (at least while JD was sitting there)!

Shane's 40th birthday was later that week, so we sang Happy Birthday and had candles in some mini cheesecakes!  Ainsley wanted to help blow out the candles with Shane and JD, but didn't want to sit on Shane's lap to do it!  Imagine that!!!

Ainsley found Baby (the cat) after lunch and loved petting her.  She would lean down and put her head on the rocking chair so she could look in the cat's eyes.  It was funny!

It didn't take long after lunch before JD was itching to get outside to hunt all the eggs.  So, I snapped a few pictures of Ainsley before we headed out.

Aunt Sudi helping Ainsley put her boots on (it was still a little muddy outside)
As soon as we got outside, both kids took off for the eggs!  It was so fun to watch them.  JD would see an egg at one side of the yard and go running for it while skipping 20 eggs along the way.  Once he got the egg he had spotted, he'd look around and see one at the opposite side of the yard and take off to get that one, skipping another 20 eggs along the way.  It was hilarious!  He would see one specific egg, and that's all he cared about.

Grandpa Bill and Ainsley

Her hat kept going over her eyes, but she didn't care!

Then, JD saw the big (decorative) eggs by the house and thought he needed one of those!

Of course, that led to Ainsley thinking she needed one also...

There was also a piñata for the kids, which was another big hit!

Ainsley thought it needed to be back up in the air after it fell
Once they finally knocked it down, they discovered there was candy, toys, and confetti inside!

It didn't hold the kids' attention for long.  Ainsley wanted to run!  JD went to get her, and Ainsley thought him chasing her was fun at first until JD tried grabbing Ainsley's hand.  That led to a meltdown!

I love JD's face in this picture.  It screams "Not guilty!"

Daddy to the rescue...I would run away in embarrassment also if my Dad had that hat on!
Of course, the big kids needed something to keep them busy.  There were eggs with confetti inside, and the guys thought it was fun to run around hitting each other with them.

The afternoon wouldn't have been complete without a baseball game with the empty piñata.

Everyone had to take turns pulling JD and Ainsley around in the wagon.  Of course, Uncle Thom had to find the mud, which both kids wanted to play in.  That didn't go over so well with the mothers!

Taking a break with Daddy

The church puts together an Easter egg hunt every year, and we could see the Easter bunny a few blocks down before the hunt started.   We decided to head down to let the kids see the Easter bunny.  I'm so glad we went, because Ainsley loved seeing the bunny.  It really surprised me!  I thought she'd be scared of it, but she ran right up to it, and just stared.  She even gave the bunny five!

On the way back, JD wanted to pull the wagon, so off we went!

I wanted to get a family picture before the afternoon was over, which is hard to do with a 2 year old and a husband that thinks he needs to talk the entire time someone tries to take our picture.
