Drake's Pirate Swim Party

Drake's birthday isn't until the middle of September, but he had a Pirate party with his friends in August so they could swim.  Ainsley was so excited and carried around the invitation to his party for the week before.  She couldn't wait for Drake's "yo-ho-ho" party.  

Jennifer had it decorated in pure Pirate fashion. 

The kids had fun swimming.  Ainsley had fun swimming with Lani, and I think Lani had a good time being Ainsley's "babysitter" in the pool.

Lifeguards

I think there were too many kids in the pool for Ainsley because when she was ready to get out, she was done.  There was no getting her back in the pool that afternoon.  Instead, Ainsley and Avelyn had fun playing in Aunt Jennifer's fountain!

The kids all ate some "pirate" food after swimming.  They also got pirate bandannas, eye patches, swords, and tattoos!

Birthday boy

After the kids got their swords, it was ready for a treasure hunt.  Ainsley had been looking forward to the treasure hunt for days!  Brian led the way to finding the treasure map.

Can you tell someone was excited?!  She had to right up front to listen!

The kids had trouble finding the "D" in the yard, but finally figured it out.

The map took them across the road and down a field to find the treasure, complete with a skeleton!

The kids drug the skeleton back to the party, but didn't get all of their "treasure" since the treasure chest ended up sitting in the sun for a few hours, which melted the chocolate treasure.  Oops!

Then it was time for cupcakes and presents!  Ainsley had been singing "Happy to you" for the days leading up to the party, but like the last few parties we went to, she freaked out when everyone started singing.  I have no clue why she does it!

Here comes the meltdown

Drake got lots of cool toys and presents at his party and I think everyone had a good time.  I wish we had birthday parties like this when I was a kid!!!
