My adorable nephew stayed with us for two nights in the middle of August while his Mommy and Daddy took a much needed vacation. Of course, Joel thought I was crazy for taking on two four month olds. It really was like having twins, and I don't know if I could have survived without the help of everyone that came over!
Mom and Mark dropped Hudson off Thursday evening. They also had Rowdy that day, so Ainsley was excited to play with him for a little while. She's little miss monkey-see-monkey-do, so following Rowdy around was fun.

Tanner and Emilee came over that evening, so we had some help getting the babies to bed.
 |
I love Hudson's face in this one! |
Hudson didn't want to go to sleep for Aunt Trista, though. He liked having me talk to him and smiling back than thinking about bed. How can you not love that adorable face?!
Joel left Friday morning to head to work and I was alone with two four month olds and a two and a half year old. I thought I was doing "good" because they were all sleeping in that morning. Around 6:45, Lily woke up which was then followed by the other two within five minutes. Just my luck...all three up at the same time!

This little guy has found his feet and doesn't make diaper changing an easy task. |
I was able to give a bottle to both babies and had a pretty uneventful morning. Lauren and Grayson came over later that morning, so we had fun running our little "daycare" of kids. She left and it wasn't long before Jennifer showed up for a little bit. Then, Aunt Doris, Aunt Sudi, and JD came. Bring on the troops! This Mommy/Aunt sure needed them! We had fun dressing Hudson up in Ainsley's hats.

Really guys??? Purple??? |
 |
My Daddy can rock some pink, so why can't I? |
 |
What you lookin' at?! |
We wanted to see Hudson kick around in the bath water, so we decided to give him a bath. Of course, he didn't get too excited during his bath and stayed pretty calm. Ainsley liked helping Aunt Do give him a bath!
Ainsley and JD had fun playing, even if they did fight!

Aunt Sudi reading the kids a book |
After everyone left, Hudson and Ainsley crashed. They all had a big day! I was excited for some peace and quiet, and I think Lily was too!
Nap time didn't last long, but at least Hudson woke up in a good mood. I can't say the same about Ainsley.

Just listening to Aunt Trista tell him the rest of his agenda.... |
 |
This is what Hudson did when I told him his Mommy and Daddy would be back in a few days. |
 |
He quickly got happy again after I assured him he still had another night at Aunt Trista's house |
Hudson likes his blankets, but he has to have it a certain way. It has to be draped over his head, and as soon as you put the blanket around his head, he calms down pretty fast. Oh, the things the poor boy will be tormented about in a few years.
 |
I think Uncle Joel wrapped him up with his blanket this time... |
 |
Yep, screaming Hudson (and smirking Aunt Trista). I think he calmed down shortly after since he had that blanket. |
Hudson goes to sleep wrapped in a swaddler, and Aunt Trista obviously wasn't very good at wrapping him on Friday night. He managed to escape twice that night. Oops!
I'm so glad the little stinker decided to have a blow out on the last day he was with me instead of early on. I had just finished giving him a bottle when I could feel it blow out the back of his diaper. It was all over me. I yelled at Joel, who just laughed and took pictures. The things I did with him and he decides to poop all over me....
 |
Hudson thought pooping on Aunt Trista was funny |
 |
Yikes! That onesie went in the trash! |
 |
He still gets kisses, even if he does poop on me! |
I know one little girl (and one big girl) that missed Hudson after he left. It might have taken a few days to miss him, but we did! Ainsley sure loves her "baby Huckie". Aunt Trista does too!
