Lily was four months on the 18th of August.

I took her for her 4 month wellness check, which unfortunately included shots. She didn't do too bad with them, but I think it helped that big sister went with us to keep her entertained. Lily weighed 18 pounds and was 25 1/2 inches long. What's a doctor's appointment without a follow up appointment? Lily has a hemangioma, which is a benign growth of cells which line blood vessels in the skin. We had to go see a pediatric dermatologist the next week. The dermatologist said it should go away on its own, but gave us some drops to apply to it twice a day in hopes it will go away faster. It doesn't hurt her, and will hopefully go away in a few years.
It's amazing how fast Lily is growing up. She absolutely loves her big sister. If Ainsley is in the room, Lily has to watch her. Ainsley can make Lily smile or laugh within seconds of just looking at her. It's amazing the bond they have between the two of them already.
We pulled the exersaucer out a few weeks ago and she loves it. Her favorite place to be is in her bumbo seat watching everyone. She went through a fussy two or three weeks, and I still think it was early teething issues. She's been drooling and chewing for over a month now, but haven't had any teeth pop through.
Lily is much like her sister was and is already in 12 or 18 month clothes. She's in size 3 diapers, but I don't think she'll be in them much longer. Lily has a thinner face than Ainsley did, but she's still chunky!

I started her on cereal the last week of July and she seemed to really like it. I try to give it to her around 7:30 so I can follow it with a bath, bottle, and then bed. She started out on rice cereal and after eating it a few nights, got a rash on her cheeks. Rita mentioned that Joel was allergic to rice cereal as a baby, so I switched her over to oatmeal. The rash seemed to go away for a few days, but then came back a week later. I think we determined the rash was just from her sleeping on her belly and rubbing her cheeks on the sheet. I haven't confirmed that though, because I never put her back on the rice cereal. After her four month checkup, I started her on baby food with her nightly cereal. She's had pears, sweet potatoes, and bananas so far. Bananas have been her favorite and gobbles them right up.

Just like her big sister....has to have her leg propped up while eating. |

She's still taking 6 ounces of formula at a time and takes a bottle every 3 hours or so. She's also sleeping through the night on her tummy in her crib. Bedtime is around 9 and she wakes up around 6. Napping has been slowly getting worse throughout the day. I'm lucky if I can get her to take a 2-3 hour nap. She usually just cat naps throughout the day.
It's fun to watch her, because she's started figuring out that her hands actually do something. She'll concentrate on an object and then finally start unsteadily moving her hands toward it.

She's been a pretty happy baby the last few weeks. It's crazy that in 10 days she'll be 5 months old. Where is the time going?
