Visiting Daddy in the field

I don't know how much we saw Joel during October, but it wasn't much.  I ran the girls out to the field one afternoon to see Joel.  Ainsley was super excited.  I can't say the same for Lily.  Lily is scared to death of any farm equipment, or a field in general.  I set her down after we got there, and she immediately broke down.  The combine was on the other side of the field, and wasn't even close to her, but she didn't care.  She was physically shaking.  If you pick her up, she buries her face in your chest and won't even look at the tractor or combine.

I say this all the time, but it seems like Lily is scared of everything!  You can really see in the pictures below how red Lily's hair looks in the sunlight.  Depending on the lighting, her hair can look very red, to auburn, to barely being able to tell there's even an hint of red in it.  I'm anxious to see if her hair color will change in the coming years, and if she'll lose her curls!

Check out that big tear....

Ainsley was happy to be in the field, and had fun playing in the combine tracks waiting for Papa Jim to come pick her up.

I tried to get Lily to follow me over to where she could see the combine (and how far away it really was from us), but that just made it even worse.  More screaming and tears followed.
Waiting for the combine to come back

Ainsley tried comforting her...

But the choke hold didn't make it any better!

Papa Jim made it back to us and Ainsley was happy to get in (and away from her screaming sister).
Joel finally showed up after hauling a load of beans, and by then I had got Lily calmed down some.  She still didn't want to get too far from me or Joel.

Ainsley didn't want to leave the field, or her Daddy!
