Ainsley was tired before we got there, but once we got inside, it all went downhill. I'm sure everyone in the restaurant knew we were there. She didn't want in her high chair (would scream and throw herself backwards when I tried to put her in), so I held her. She wanted down so she could run around, but of course, that wasn't going to happen so I tried to keep holding her. She decided to throw herself backwards and throw a pretty good fit, screaming and fighting me. So, I grabbed her sippy cup and the car keys and headed outside with her. I let her walk around in front of the restaurant for a few minutes and she calmed down. I took her back inside, and she did pretty good for the rest of the meal. I think one of the waitresses felt sorry for us, because she brought Ainsley a sucker. Nothing like telling you to use it to keep your kid quiet! Ainsley did like it, even if both of us ended up a sticky mess.
After we got home from eating, we sat outside and let Ainsley play. It was actually a pretty nice evening, with a slight breeze. It was in the upper 90's during the day yesterday, so it was nice to be able to sit outside and not be burning up.
Grandpa Bill blew bubbles for Ainsley and she loved it. It's so funny to watch her, because if a bubble gets close to her, she'll scrunch up her face and close her eyes and acts afraid of it. She finally started finding them after they landed on the ground and would try to touch them.
Where did the bubbles go?? |
I stripped her down and gave her a popsicle, which she wouldn't eat at first. After watching Daddy eat his, she quickly realized what it was all about and decided she liked it!
Uh-oh...she lost half of it! |
Brrrrr...it's COLD! |
There's her tongue! |
She was a sticky mess by the time we were done with bubbles and popsicles, so we came inside and I gave her a bath and she was ready for bed. Nothing like a little fresh air to wear her out!
