We dropped Ainsley off with Kathleen for the afternoon while Joel and I went to Springfield for the sonogram. We had an ultrasound technician that I had a lot while I was pregnant with Ainsley and luckily, it was one that we liked! She started by looking and measuring some of the organs, which all looked good. Baby #2's head was very low, so she couldn't get a good measurement of the head. It didn't stop her from trying, though. She pushed and prodded (which wasn't exactly comfortable) to try to get baby to move her head. No matter how much she pushed around, baby wasn't budging! It only made her kick harder, but baby wasn't going to show us her face. She's already acting like her big sister! I made the comment that is exactly what Ainsley did during every sonogram, and we didn't have any good sonogram pictures of Ainsley's profile or face, and the technician laughed and said she thought she remembered my other baby doing the same thing! We have some stubborn kids, and I have no clue where they get that from!!!

Thankfully, everything looked good and the placenta was no longer covering the cervix. What a relief! The technician said that since it's moved, it can't move back to covering the cervix. It will only move farther away now.
Baby #2 is measuring right on schedule, which we're very happy about since Ainsley always measured small. From the measurements, she weighs right at 3 pounds and everything looks good. Joel and I both made the comment that it felt so good to walk out of there with good news for once. It seemed like every time we went for Ainsley, they would tell us how small she was measuring, or something else that was wrong. Then with baby #2's sonogram, the placenta was covering the cervix, so we had that to worry about. Now, we're clear and don't have anything to worry about. We also shouldn't have any more sonograms now, which is kind of sad, but at least we know the baby is looking good.
After the sonogram, we headed to Babies R Us to check on the nursery furniture. The furniture I picked out was on back order, and they were suppose to be able to order it this week, but when I called on Tuesday, it was still on back order. Lucky for us, the furniture became available earlier on Friday and the girl ended up getting it ordered for us. She's pretty sure they'll receive it in the next 1-2 weeks, and I'm second on the list to get it. There were only 3 available in the whole district. It must be pretty popular furniture!!!
With the furniture now ordered, I've got to get in gear and start getting things organized. We've got to get the furniture out of the bedroom in the basement that will now be my office. I'm going to make part of my office the girls' play room, and get most of the toys moved down to the basement. That means we have to get my desk moved from the bedroom upstairs downstairs, and the office closet cleaned out. I've also got to paint the office, once I find some bedding I like for the nursery. It seems like there is so much to do before the baby gets here and we've got to get most of it done before Joel starts in the fields.
Finding baby bedding that I like is so much harder this time. We didn't use the bumper pads or blanket that came with Ainsley's bedding set, so I don't really want to spend the money on another complete set. The only thing we used was the sheet and crib skirt. I have something pictured in my head, but I can't find it anywhere online! I want something very simple with just creams and light pink. Do you know how hard it is to find something with just cream and pink??? I would love to order her custom bedding from Etsy, but it's so expensive and there is no way I'm doing that!
I've had a few firsts with this pregnancy over the last few weeks. Last Saturday, I had Braxton Hicks contractions on and off pretty much all day. They were really bad from 10:30-3. I never felt a contraction with Ainsley, and didn't have Braxton Hicks at all with her. After a few hours of having the contractions and them not going away, I started to get a little nervous. I could still feel the baby moving, so that comforted me a little. I've had Braxton Hicks a few times over the last few months with this baby, but they would go away after 5-10 minutes. They ended up going away last weekend early Saturday night, and I haven't had them since.
A few nights ago, I woke up with a leg (calf) cramp. Maybe I should say, I sat straight up in bed while whining/almost crying saying "ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch" and I'm sure a few other words. I had cramps in my calves while I was pregnant with Ainsley also, and I've been wondering when they would hit this time. It hurt to walk on that leg that next day, and even a few days later, my calf is still sore. Pregnancy leg cramps have to be the absolute worst!
Baby #2's movements are becoming stronger every day, and she definitely makes her presence known. She either really likes Ainsley sitting on my lap, or doesn't like it because every time Ainsley sits on my lap, baby #2 starts moving around like crazy. It never fails!
Ainsley had stayed with Kathleen while we went to our sonogram, and I'm sure she had fun playing with Lani, even if she does like to tell Lani "No-no". I know Lani enjoys having Ainsley there so she can be a little mother hen. Of course, Kathleen said Ainsley was good. It seems like she's good for everyone besides me.
