Sweet corn and lightning bugs

We all went down to Bluffs one Saturday morning to get a few hostas from Mimi's to transplant at the house, and ended up spending the whole day down there.

The girls discovered the huge rock at Mimi's.  Joel told Ainsley how he used to climb it when he was little, so that led to both girls wanting on top of it.

Ainsley didn't try climbing it until after she saw Lily doing it.  Lily's our little dare devil!
After a quick lunch at Placke's, we headed down to Naples to see if any sweet corn was ready.  Ainsley thought helping Daddy pick corn was fun!

We decided to shuck the corn before taking it home, so back to Mimi's we went.  Lily saw the corn that we had shucked, and immediately wanted some.  She ended up going through 3 or 4 ears.  She would get some off, and then drop it in the dirt, so we'd give her a new ear.  I don't know how much corn she actually ended up eating, but it kept her occupied!

The girls were in desperate need of a nap, so we packed up all the corn, and headed home.  That evening, they discovered lightning bugs!  Ainsley had a hard time catching them at first with her net, but she got the hang of it toward the end.

The rest of the weekend was spent putting up sweet corn.  It also included a lunch break to Evandy's with Papa Bill while the corn cooled off!

Lily had to have corn again.  She loves the stuff!
