Trip to Indianapolis-Children's Museum

At the beginning of August, we started packing for a weekend away.  Joel's cousin, Ryan, was getting married in Ohio, and we decided to stop half way in Indianapolis for a few days on our way.
We got to Indianapolis early afternoon and checked into the hotel before heading to the Children's Museum. Ainsley had a hard time grasping "staying at a hotel".  She kept asking where "hotel" was.  She thought "hotel" was a person and we were staying at their house!

We spent Thursday afternoon and evening at the Children's Museum.  I was thinking it would be more like the Magic House, but it was actually more of a museum.  Go figure!  There was still plenty of things for the kids to do and see, but there was definitely things they didn't care about.

Ainsley and Drake were able to dig for fossils, "go under the sea", walk through an old train, sit in a race car, and pretend to be a teacher.

Drake's a little like his mother, and thought he needed a stroller to ride around in.  If we could have found one big enough, I'm sure Jennifer would have hopped in too and loved every minute of someone pushing her around.

Ainsley was even able to perform her rendition of "Let It Go", complete with dancing, in "Lilly Theatre".

Ainsley's favorite part was the airplane and the carousel.  She wanted to go back to the airplane, so we did it twice.
Ainsley didn't want to get off the carousel when it stopped.  She screamed and kicked (she even kicked Drake in the face) as I pulled her off of it.  Luckily, I was able to distract her with a maze of mirrors as soon as we got off.

A screaming kid always is the first sign that it's time to go, right?!  We left, grabbed some pizza, and went back to the hotel for the night.

Who needs toys at a hotel when you have a box of Kleenex and a roll of toilet paper?!?!
