Water

What little kid can't have fun with water?  It's so simple, and kids love it!  It doesn't matter if it's rain, from a hose, or in a pool.  My girls love water!

Lily had her first experience with water puddles one day in late May.  Ainsley was itching to go outside and jump in the puddles all afternoon.  After it finally quit raining, and was just barely sprinkling, I put some boots on the girls and we headed outside.  Lily didn't know what to think at first.  She just watched Ainsley jump and splash.  Then, she got a little more brave and would reach down and splash in the water with her hands.  She did fall into the puddle a few times and land on her butt, and she didn't like that at all!

I got the girls a big beach ball sprinkler, and told Ainsley we could get it out one afternoon.  We got outside, only to discover  that the giant beach ball had to be aired up first.  I don't know why I didn't think of that beforehand.  So, we had to wait for Joel to get home to air it up.  The girls were looking forward to playing in the water, so I turned the hose on for them and let them play.  It was more fun than the sprinkler!  Lily loved getting sprayed with the water, and was soaked by the time they were done!

Lily likes to eat her popsicle sideways!
