Busy weekends

There haven't been many open spots on our calendar for the past few months when it comes to weekends.  We've been busy, busy, busy.  We had a benefit for Ainsley's music class teacher's son and a friend's wedding all on one Saturday in May.  I ended up making it to both (and even visiting baby Amelia earlier that day).

Miss Rachel's son, Matthew, is 4 years old and has an unknown neurotransmitter disorder.  A benefit was held to help the family with medical bills.  Miss Rachel is so sweet, and I think they raised quite a bit to help the family.  I ended up taking both girls, and Mom, Mark, Elizabeth, and Rowdy joined us.  They had all sorts of things for the kids to do, and Ainsley had a great time (even if her thumb was still hurting her).

Trying to win a cake....notice her "hurt" thumb?!

Before we left for the benefit, Joel was helping put Ainsley in the car before heading to Dad's for the afternoon.  He shut the car door after getting something out of it, and Ainsley's thumb just happened to get smashed in the door.  The poor girl screamed and cried and wouldn't let anyone look at it.  She held it up for most of the afternoon afterwards and would complain that it hurt.  Mom was able to get some ice on it after she fell asleep in the car on the way to the benefit.  Ainsley quickly forgot about her thumb when she saw the bounce houses and other activities for the kids!

They had a dj at the benefit, and Ainsley (and Rowdy) showed off their dance moves!  Rowdy's dance moves are a little wilder than Ainsley's!!!

I think this was the night that Rowdy stayed at Mom and Mark's also.  Rowdy and Ainsley fell asleep on the couch, and Rowdy's obviously a couch hog!!!

After the benefit, I hurried back to Dad's to get ready for Carmen and Aaron's wedding.  Mom kept the girls for us, and Joel and I headed to Carlinville.

Brand-O was there!

They had a horseshoe bar for food, and it was the best wedding food EVER!!!

Bunco girls with the bride!
I'm usually the one that is ready to go home before Joel, but I was having a good time at the wedding and was ready to stay.  Joel was ready for bed, though, so we had to end the night short.
