First haircut and trip to the dentist

My first baby is really growing up.  She had a couple pretty big "firsts" in the last few months.  She's been asking to go and get her hair cut for awhile now, and it was something I had been putting off.  I had a hair appointment, and asked Ainsley if she wanted to go with me.  Of course, she replied with:  "YES!"  So, we were off to Coco Bongo for Ainsley's first haircut.

She loves to watch Bubble Guppies and there is an episode where they all get their hair cut, so she knew what was going to happen.  The weird thing is, she's also been asking to go to the dentist, but she would tell you that she had to get her hair cut first, and then she could go to the dentist.  She didn't want to go to the dentist until she got her hair cut.  I have no clue where she comes up with these things.

We did one thing at a time.  She was so excited the day of our hair appointment.  She walked in and wanted Ashlee to cut her hair right away.  Ashlee started out coloring my hair and then had to do another lady before she cut Ainsley's hair.  Ainsley was really good and sat and watched patiently.
When it was her turn, she sat in the chair with the biggest smile on her face.  She did everything Ashlee told her to do, and I couldn't have been prouder.  She didn't even flinch when she put a braid in her hair.  Of course, she also got some (spray) color in her hair.  Ainsley thought she was big stuff!

After she was done, she sat in another chair and just stared at herself in the mirror.  It was so funny to watch her.  I told her it would be one of the few times that she'd actually get a braid in her hair.  Her Mommy lacks in the "doing hair" department.

Purple hair!
It only took her a few days after getting her hair cut, before she was asking to go to the dentist.  I figured I might as well take her if she was asking to go!  I made an appointment, and she was so excited the morning of the appointment.  She'd ask every five minutes if it was time to leave yet.  I was very nervous about taking her to the dentist, because she doesn't like the doctor, but I kept telling her that the dentist was her friend.  It helped that the hygienist is a friend of Jennifer's.  The dentist was very nice, and let Ainsley go first.  Ainsley even let him lean the chair back and "count" her teeth.  She told him that he could brush her teeth, but freaked out when he turned on the electric toothbrush.  She was thinking it would be a normal toothbrush.  I was proud that she let him do as much as he did.

She asks about once a week or so when she can go back to the dentist and get her hair cut again.  My baby girl is growing up!
