More doctors

We had a few doctor's appointments in May.  Luckily, we've been pretty healthy for the last few weeks and have avoided the doctor/dentist/physical therapy.  In mid May, we ran to Springfield to pick up Ainsley's custom orthotics.  We were suppose to wean her onto them, and I have to say that she's done pretty good with them.  She complained a little bit the first week or so, but doesn't fight us at all now when we ask her to find them and put them in her shoes.
Waiting for the doctor

We ran a few errands and stopped for supper after her appointment.  She loved our Mommy/daughter date.  I did too!

Here's a picture of Ainsley's knock knees.  I don't notice a big difference with the orthotics, but the physical therapist did when we saw her for the last time after getting the inserts.
The week after the "smashed thumb" incident where Joel shut Ainsley's thumb in the car door, we had another incident with her arm.  About a year ago, we had to take Ainsley to the ER after Lisa called and said that Ainsley hurt her arm and wouldn't move it.  They told us that Ainsley had nursemaid elbow, and that it went back into place when they tried doing the xray on her.  It happened again in late May.  Both girls had gone to Lisa's for the day, and that morning I got a phone call from Lisa telling me that Ainsley had hurt her arm and wouldn't move it.  She was playing hide and seek with Will, and was hiding under the big horse when Will pulled on her arm to get her out from under it.  Lisa said Ainsley immediately started screaming when Will pulled her arm.  By the time I got there, Ainsley still wasn't moving her arm and would cry out in pain every time I would try to move or touch her arm.  So, we headed for the ER again to make sure it was the nursemaid's elbow again.

I had called Mom to see if she was working, and she was.  She met us in the ER.  We had just got checked in and sat down when Mom came in with fruit snacks for Ainsley.  She asked Ainsley to move her arm, and Ainsley refused, but when she offered her some fruit snacks, Ainsley grabbed for one....with her hurt arm!  Mom pushed and pulled around on her arm a little bit and Ainsley said it didn't hurt anymore.  Luckily, Mom got down to the ER before we actually went back.  "Doctor" Grandma Shelly saved us a pretty penny!  I immediately told them we were leaving and didn't need to be seen.  The nurse that came out said it was probably nursemaid's elbow again and I probably jostled her arm around enough when carrying her in that it knocked it back in place.

Ainsley was so happy that "Doctor" Grandma Shelly fixed her arm.  She finally crashed later that afternoon when we had to go pick up Lily from Lisa's.
I'm hoping it never happens again.  It is not fun to see your baby in pain!
